Recap: The Nordic Mixer at Slush Tokyo 2018

We organized the Nordic Mixer in collaboration with Slush Helsinki, Slush Tokyo and Innovation Norway Japan at the Norwegian bar ØL in Tokyo on 28 March, Day 1 of Slush Tokyo.

The purpose of the event was to connect the Nordic startup community to other entrepreneurs, investors, tech experts and potential partners. And to have a presence of Norwegian founders in the Japanese and Asian startup ecosystem through stage appearance and building network.

The conference Slush Tokyo gathered 6000 attendees, including 600 startups, 200 investors and 300 media from Japan and other Asian countries.

It has been interesting to see the development of Slush Tokyo, not only for the conference itself but the Japanese and Asian startup ecosystem development in general. It is, in my opinion a system on the rise. To us, this is interesting to follow for Oslo’s startups, for both investment and not least partnerships and collaboration.

«Slush Tokyo is a great door opener to the early stage Japanese tech scene. It gave us a Nordic companies a centre stage in an economy that starts to look outwards for inspiration and partners»

“The Nordic Mixer turned out to be one of the must attend events, situated at ØL, it gave the perfect Nordic vibe to informal networking.”
