Recap Event tech: make smarter events

Event tech: make smarter events was held 2 March at 15:00–15:45, at Dansen Hus, Vulkan, as a part of by:Larm.

Moderator:
Lauga Oskarsdottir, Head of the Lab, STARTUPLAB

Fireside chat with:
– Wasim Rashid, Head of Product, Platform and Data Insights, Telia Norge
– Johan Høgåsen-Hallesby, CTO, Urban Infrastructure Partner
– Peer Osmundsvaag, Atomic Soul
– Silje Halstensen aka Bendik

The session taught us this:

  1. Technology is nice, but we’re not into tech for the tech’s sake. It’s not the technology which is exciting, but what it allows us to do
  2. Crowds and audiences want to experience the effect of technology, but not its presence
  3. Quote Peer Osmundsvåg: “being high-tech to go low tech”
  4. There is transactional value if you look at core tech that ties us together in the city: what works on a macro level in the city, works at a micro level in events
