Are you the new Project Manager of Oslo Innovation Week?


Oslo Innovation Week is an annual week-long conference based in Oslo in the month of September. The 2019 edition connected more than 150 partners that collaborated across 63 events, all about business solutions to the UN 17 sustainable development goals. Oslo Innovation Week is a vital part of Oslo’s international business profile as a leading city for entrepreneurship, and last year participants from more than 30 countries attended.

Your job as a project manager is to plan, produce and evaluate the conference every year. This means you will be in charge of ensuring that OIW develops and maintains its position as a highly regarded conference and a must-attend conference for innovative minds in the business and startup communities.

The project manager is responsible for maintaining good relations with all partners and must be able to communicate well with all types of players. As a project manager, you need to be able to maintain control of the many details in a complex project organization.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Project manager for Oslo Innovation Week
  • Maintaining relations with all OIW partners, as well as making new, valuable connections.
  • Quality-assuring the content of events according to the OIW objectives
  • Organize and lead the team at Oslo Business Region during OIW
  • Organize and lead staff with volunteers during OIW
  • Evaluate and develop Oslo Innovation Week from year to year
  • Ensure that OIW builds the Oslo brand internationally as a leading city for innovation, technology and sustainability

As project manager of Oslo Innovation Week, you will answer directly to the CEO of Oslo Business Region.


  • A minimum of 5 years work experience
  • Experience from project management of major events
  • Knowledge and interest in entrepreneurship, technology and sustainability
  • Understanding how an event like OIW should be used to build the Oslo brand as an attractive place to start a business and invest
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work with people in different roles and positions
  • Understanding how interaction with various players in business life works.
