Meet Hilde Øverby, one of our Oslo European Green Capital Mentors. Hilde is an experienced leader within project management, sustainable sourcing, quality and food safety management with a demonstrated history of working in the restaurant and food industry. She is focused on the importance of communication, teamwork and insight research to achieve objectives and outlining strategies. Currently, she serves as the Head of QA & CSR at FoodFolk AS, which manages McDonald’s Norway.
For Hilde, the “sustainability roadmap” is a journey she began in 2000. Since then, she has considered sustainability her “baby- that has grown and peaked” her interest ever since. She has been working with the sustainability concept from farm to fork in conjugation with quality assurance and procurement strategies. In Hilde’s opinion, we need consider the 3 E’s, Ethics, Environment and Economics – when it comes to developing sustainable business practices.
“The way I’m working with sustainability is to try to work in teams and avoid clusters to scale up the initiatives and work together in one direction for a better future. Entering the Oslo European Green Capital Mentoring Program in August 2019 was s a new journey for me. I am looking forward to learn from my mentees and the other mentors while using my insight and knowledge to find new innovative solutions that can drive sustainability forward.” – Hilde Øverby
