Oslo Innovation Week 2014 is over – with more than 50 individual events taking place in Oslo during the course of a full week in mid October. Coverage in and visits from a number of international, national and regional media, several national TV and radio appearances and constant activity on social media is living proof that big events are good generators of public interest and profile.
The attention a place gets when hosting a superstar rock concert or big sports events like the Olympics or the Football World Cup is normally huge. Oslo Innovation Week 2014 saw almost 70 separate organisations involved in the more than 50 individual events taking place in Oslo during the course of a full week in mid October.
Oslo Business Region, the project manager, worked to attract international journalists and had a good turnout through the week, with 12 journalists visiting from abroad to cover the events. There has been more than 50 stories in the media nationally and internationally so far, including coverage in newspapers like the German Die Welt and Danish Berlingske Tidende, Brazilian Epoca Negócios and the Japanese Huffington Post, as well as websites like Nordic focused Arctic Startup and several stories in UK-based City Tribune.
